Summer Sale

Well, it seems that summer has finally hit Colorado. The snow is starting to melt, which means high water, which means less fishing and the bugs are out in full force. I’m currently rocking the finest Colorado cologne. Ah, well… such is life.

In honor of this momentous occasion of not having to run the heater at night, Jacob is running a Summer Sale on all of his fiberglass rods still in the shop.

19 for 2019

If you've been a follower of our blog for a while or keep up with us on social media, you've probably noticed two things. One, that we're packing up and moving to Colorado and two, that there hasn't been much new content lately. Unfortunately, the second is a direct result of the first. There hasn't been much time for adventures with purging, cleaning, painting, etc...

Last week we started tearing down Jacob's rod building shop, boxing up chemicals, dividing up parts, and carefully storing away all the multicolored threads. It's a little sad seeing it all diluted down and packed away, but I know that soon it will all be put back together, in a space more worthy.

Rushed Hours

Fishing trips. Oh, how I miss a good fishing trip. Since returning home from Colorado, it's been a whirlwind of work. Yup, that four letter word has crept back into our lives. Between a backlog of rod bags (thank you all!!!), rod building and guiding Jacob and I have only managed to hit the water once. But, I guess that's what you get when you go on a month long vacation.

Last week we decided to put our "to-dos" on the back burner for a couple of hours and run up to the Davidson. It's close to the house, it holds fish, and our favorite brewery is on the way home. Win-win-win.

A House Divided, Again...

If you're a regular reader of the blog, a friend of ours, or even just follow our journey on social media, you know that we live in a house divided.

Glass vs. Grass.

Thankfully,  for the sake of our relationship, we agree on dry flies and reels.

This April is going to be a significant test for both of us, and our relationship, as our home of Pisgah Forest, NC is going to be taken over one weekend by bamboo builders and the next by glass geeks. We will be attending both events, together. Let's hope we both make it out alive!

What's Up With Ferrule Plug Pockets?

Example of tapered rod bag with FPP

Recently, I've had a lot of questions about ferrule plug pockets on my rod bags.

1)Where do they go?

2)What's the closure system?

3)Which styles of bags can have a pocket put on them?

So, I figured I'd take a bit of time and answer some of these questions on here, in hopes to clear up some of the confusion.
