What's Up With Ferrule Plug Pockets?

Recenlty, I've had a lot of questions about ferrule plug pockets on my rod bags.

1)Where do they go?

2)What's the closure system?

3)Which styles of bags can have a pocket put on them?

So, I figured I'd take a bit of time and answer some of these questions on here, in hopes to clear up some of the confusion.

1) I always put the FPP (ferrule plug pocket) on the butt section, towards the top, directly under the cuff.

2) The cuff is the closure system (on all bags which incorporate a cuff). I've found the number one complaint among builders is that if you utilize a closure system with a button or velcro there's a chance of damaging the rod. I place my FPP just under the cuff, so that the cuff fabric acts as a closure without the need for any harmful components.

3) The short answer is they can be put on any style! However, that being said, the lined bags or those with flaps do not come with a cuff and therefore have no closure system, just the pocket.

With any style, FPP's are an additional $5.00.

Hope this helps, I'm still trying to figure out the best way to describe these bags and photographs them.

Also, sorry to my "non-rod builder" readers for wasting your time, tonight we go fishing, so I'll make it up to you tomorrow!
